What is Invisalign treatment?

Invisalign treatment is a type of orthodontic treatment that uses clear aligners to straighten your teeth. These aligners are custom-made to fit your teeth perfectly, giving you a treatment that is comfortable and virtually invisible as well as being very effective.

How do Invisalign clear aligners work?

Your aligners will make small adjustments to the position of your teeth, and as you switch to new sets of aligners, your teeth will gradually move into their optimal positions. Your total treatment time is comparable to braces but will vary depending on your individual needs, how often you wear your aligners and how quickly your teeth move. Most patients who receive Invisalign treatment see results within six to 12 months.

How are clear aligners different from traditional metal braces?

Invisalign clear aligners are made from smooth, clear plastic and do not involve the use of any wires, brackets or bands to move your teeth. They are also removable, which means that you can eat whatever you would like and brush and floss normally throughout your treatment.

Is Invisalign treatment painful or uncomfortable?

Invisalign treatment is generally considered to be much more comfortable than traditional braces. You may experience some discomfort or pressure when you begin wearing a new set of aligners, but this should be mild and subside within a few days.

How often should I wear my aligners?

You should wear your aligners as often as possible. Our dentists will typically recommend that you wear your aligners at least 22 hours each day. You should only remove your aligners to eat, brush and floss, or clean the aligners.

How often should I change my Invisalign aligners?

You will change your aligners every two weeks or as directed by our dentists.

How much does Invisalign treatment cost?

The cost of Invisalign clear aligners is comparable to traditional braces, and your overall treatment cost will depend on your treatment plan and your individual needs. Invisalign treatment may be covered by your dental insurance, and we recommend checking with your insurance provider to confirm your benefits and determine if your treatment is covered. Our dentists and team will discuss your treatment costs with you during your initial consultation.
